A common misconception among homeowners is that when you need a new roof, or roof repairs, you simply call up your local roofing company and they appear the next day to begin work. While the process could be expedited to this degree, the quality of work would be lacking and it would not last long term. Then, you’ll find yourself back in the same boat down the road.

At H & S Roofing and Gutter Company, we’ve developed a process where our team of estimators and roofers work as efficiently as possible to ensure that we deliver top quality work on every project we are on. However, top of the line work on a project as important as your roof is something that takes time and accurate assessments.

Read on to learn about our process and why it’s the best solution to your roofing needs!

The H & S Process: From the first call to the finished product

The first step to enlisting the help of H & S Roofing and Gutter Company on your project is requesting a quote or calling our office at 704-272-2533. Our knowledgeable office staff will arrange a time convenient for you to receive a visit from one of our estimators.

This initial visit could take place anywhere from a day or two after your call, to a week or two after your call. For example, if a week of heavy rainfall hits the Carolinas, roofing work cannot be conducted while the roof is still saturated and there are probably many people experiencing roof leaks. Do what you can to mitigate the interior water intrusion you are experiencing and keep in mind if a roofer is not busy after a rain storm, something  must be wrong (with that roofer!).

When the estimator arrives at your home for your scheduled appointment, they will inspect your roof thoroughly for the cause of your issues. Many times, the cause of a roof leak, or other roofing issue, might not be clear cut as several parts of your roof could be the culprit. Once the estimator determines the likely cause of your roofing problem, they will offer you a quote and contract.

Once the contract is signed, our office staff will assign your work to a technician, based on the complexity, and type of repair. For instance, if carpentry work and roof work is involved, 2 different technicians may be assigned as most technicians are specifically trained to work on particular types of work. You will receive notification when your work has been scheduled. Like your inspection, your work schedule could be scheduled anywhere from a day or two after your call, to a week or two after your call. Again, if a week of heavy rainfall hits the Carolinas, roofing work cannot be conducted while the roof is still saturated and there are probably many people experiencing roof leaks. The technician(s) will come out to your home on a scheduled date to complete the repair, or installation work, leaving a notification as to the completion of the work if you are not at home. You do not generally need to be home for our technicians to complete their job. Once work is completed, H & S will ensure the outside of your home and yard is clean from all the work that took place.

The importance of regular roofing maintenance

Regular roof inspections and maintenance are important because this will allow you to catch any issues, or potential problems, before they become apparent via a leak. When it comes to roofing, roof deficiencies typically show themselves in situations caused by bad weather, which means that many others are experiencing similar issues. Continued torrential rains for instance reveal more problems, more homeowners need service, and the wait list will grow as weather will not permit workers to access roofs due to safety issues.

By catching any potential problems ahead of time, you can avoid emergency repairs or installation processes and avoid any wait lists that occur.
